the single cells will inevitably increase,
and the difference in the SOH of the battery pack will also lead to
the capacity mismatch problem of the battery cluster "not fully
charged and not fully discharged".
What is certain is that battery balancing is one of the essential
functions of the energy storage system. BMS passive balancing, BMS
active balancing, battery cluster manager/balancer/optimizer, etc.
can all enable the energy storage system to achieve different
degrees of balancing. The current of passive balancing is about
100mA, and the balancing current that can be achieved by active
balancing is usually within 5A.
Adding DC/DC modules such as battery cluster
manager/balancer/optimizer can achieve a larger balancing current.
In a popular way, active balancing is similar to "robbing the rich
to help the poor",
while passive balancing only "robs the rich but does not help the
poor". Passive balancing belongs to energy dissipation balancing,
which is to connect a resistor in parallel to the battery cell.
When some batteries are not fully charged and some batteries are
fully charged, the resistor releases the electricity in the form of
heat to the fully charged batteries.
Active balancing is a non-energy dissipative balancing method that
transfers energy from high-energy cells to low-energy cells during
the battery charge and discharge cycle.

connect cables:
